Califon Cowl
Califon Cowl
Knitting pattern by Lelah Olender. Ravel it: Califon Cowl
This open bubble stitch pattern was adapted for use in the round from Barbara G. Walker’s A Second Treasure of Knitting Patterns. The highly textured fabric is perfect for showing off almost-bulky weight handspun yarn, and will only take an hour or two to make.
YARN: The Spun Monkey’s Monkey Twists (plied yarn) in That Seventies Upholstery – One Skein. Purchased from Purl Jam, in Califon, NJ.
NEEDLES: Size 11-40” circulars. This particular cowl was knitted using The Magic Loop method, but you could use 12” circulars or DPNs, and it would work just as well.
GAUGE: 3.5 stitches per inch.
FINISHED SIZE: Measured flat: 7” x 10.5”
DIRECTIONS: Using the long tail cast on, CO 70 sts.
